A Chat with the New Chancellor

Victor J. Dzau, M.D., has always liked to be where the action is. His lifelong pursuit of excellence propelled him halfway across the globe for medical school, into a new country for medical residency, and to leadership positions at dynamic institutions on the East and West Coasts of the U.S.--Stanford and Harvard. Dzau, M.D., (right) recently toured Duke Hospital and the McGovern-Davison Children’s Health Center with hospital CEO William Fulkerson, M.D., to learn the lay of the land and talk with faculty and staff. Dzau became chancellor for health affairs at Duke University and president and CEO of the Duke University Health System on July 1.
